Unfortunately, the most wonderful time to be enjoying the view over Dresden’s Altmarkt (Old Market square) – the Christmas season – has passed all-too quickly once again. Fortunately though, the market square with the Church of the Holy Cross and the City Hall’s tower, with its trams and street traffic passing by, with locals and tourists alike making their way across, can be “eye-candy” all year round, at all the different times of day or night, and in all sorts of weather.

Therefore, and by popular request, I have decided to leave the live cam online for a little while longer than originally planned.

Since http://ww.com/ does not always run smoothly, transmission may fail briefly on occasion. In that case, try to restart the video stream by pressing the “F5” button on your keyboard or by refreshing your browser window. If you cannot get the stream to restart that way, please send an e-mail to: rietscher@web.de, or contact me via ICQ: 109648534. I will then try to restart the cam manually, as soon as possible.

Regrettably, I feel the need to express my concerns about and disapproval of the following: In the recent past I have noticed a number of users displaying profoundly strange and offensive video streams, and thereby deliberately violating and abusing the “Child-safe mode” on http://ww.com/ in order to exhibit their special preferences (and/or perversities). I cannot prevent them from doing so… All I can do is express my very deepest disapproval and distance myself explicitly from this sort of inacceptable irresponsibility! That needed out.

After all: I am hoping dearly that nothing will retain you from enjoying the view over our market!

Hallo ihr Lieben,...

...leider ist sie nun vorerst vorbei - die schönste Zeit um auf den Altmarkt zu schauen. Doch es kommen neue - auch schöne Zeiten und Ausblicke.

Ich entschloss mich - aufgrund unzähliger Nachfragen - diese Live Cam vom Altmarkt in Dresden noch etwas länger als geplant online zulassen.

http://ww.com läuft nicht immer stabil und es kann hin und wieder zu Übertragungsausfällen kommen. Doch ein erneuter Versuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Sollte die Übertragung plötzlich ausfallen, versucht mit der F5-Taste oder über die Webseiten-Aktualisierungs-Funktion, versuchen den Stream neu zu starten. Lässt sich der Stream trotzdem nicht starten, dann sendet mir bitte eine Nachricht an rietscher@web.de bzw. via ICQ – Nummer: 109648534. Ich versuche dann die Cam so schnell es mir möglich ist neu zu starten.

Ich habe hier auf http://ww.com, sehen müssen, dass von einigen Usern hochgradig seltsame bzw. anstößige Video-Streams gezeigt werden. Ich kann es diesen Menschen leider nicht verbieten. Ich distanziere mich jedoch von solchen Inhalten energisch!
