This is a live webcam from Springfield, IL in the Westchester Subdivision. You will see a nearby field and trees, and at night you should see lights from houses on a street nearby. The webcam is looking southwest. You may be able to see precipitation as it is falling, lightning if it is happening, the sky condition, wind speed by observing the trees, and snow accumulation on the ground. Wildlife occasionally wander around the grass also. The audio is usually enabled and you can usually hear the wind, trains in the distance, noises from the street below and maybe even a conversation or two in passing. The webcam is usually up all the time but at night the image is pretty dark. I've tried to fix the problem recently with too much color saturation which has meant disabling the low light filters to produce a better image all the time.
